THE MAYOR MARCHES--Columbus Ohio Mayor Gregory Lashutka marches in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade held in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday, Jan. 20, 1997. A smaller crowd than in the past attended the event, after some black leaders called for a boycott of the city-sponsored march, due to controversies concerning the suspension of Columbus Police Chief James Jackson, and the firing of Equal Opportunity Director Gwendolyn Rodgers who are both African American.
