LINCLON MONUMENT--Frank Piasecki hoists a marble bust of Abraham Lincoln, which will sit atop the Surrender at Vicksburg monument, in the Rotunda, at the Ohio Statehouse, in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998. The Lincoln and Vicksburg Monument was the first piece of statuary created for the Statehouse by Thomas D. Jones, and was originally dedicated in 1871. The restoration, made possible by a $150,000 grant by Honda of America Manufacturing, was done by Midwest Conservation Services, of Plain City, and Kotecki Monuments, of Cleveland. The public unveiling and rededication will be on Feb. 12.
