OVERWHELMED BY THE MOMENT--Ohio Gov. George Voinovich (left) offers support to Tuskegee Airman Walter Kyle during an emotional start of Kyle's speech, at the Ohio Newspaper Association's 48th annual Governor's Award Banquet, in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1997. Kyle is the president of the Ohio chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen who were recognized for serving America during World War II, and in helping to bring an end to segregation in the armed forces. Following the war, the Tuskegee Airmen departed from their Alabama base and were stationed at what is now Rickenbacker Air Base, in Columbus.


FUNDING PROTEST--Arneisia Hicks joins about 25 other demonstators from Cleveland, Ohio, in protesting the Cuyahoga County Community Mental Health Board's decision to stop funding the Cleveland based Community Guidance Inc. The protest took place in front of the Rhodes Tower, in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997.
