CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT--Re-enactors fire one of the four Napoleonic howitzer cannons on the Statehouse grounds, in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, Aug. 8, 1997. The annual Civil War-era encampment, which is sponsored by the Statehouse Education & Visitors Center, runs through Saturday night and is open and free to the public.
