FROM ONE ASTRONAUT TO ANOTHER--Kathryn Sullivan, president of COSI and former astronaut, gestures during an event honoring U.S. Senator and astronaut John Glenn, at the Ohio Statehouse, in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998. Sullivan, who traveled to space three times, was the first American woman to walk in space. Behind Sullivan is a replica of the Mercury space capsule in which Glenn made the first U.S. orbital flight aboard Friendship 7, in 1962. The 77 year-old Ohioan will return to space on Thursday.
