HOSTAGE SAGA ENDS--James M. Dailey of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, is led out of the William H. Green Building by Ohio Highway Patrol officers following a seven-hour standoff at the building which houses the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation, in Columbus Ohio, on Wednesday, Nov 13, 1996. No one was injured when one of the hostages overpowered the gunman.


EEK A CHIP--Cecilia Fernandez tries a Pringles no fat chip made with olestra at a Kroger's supermarket in Upper Arlington Ohio on Sept 27, 1996. Despite her expression, Fernandez said that she liked the product. Columbus is the national test market for the chip.


WINNER TAKE ALL--Ohio Gov George Voionovich is joined by Dave Zanotti, of Citizens For A Stronger Ohio, as they celebrate the defeat of State Issue I at a victory party in Columbus Ohio, on Tuesday, Nov 5, 1996. Issue I, which would have legalized riverboat casino gambling in the state, was defeated by a 62-38 percent margine.


FIRST FEMALE LIEUTENANT--Lisa J. Taylor, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, is congratulated by her fellow officers after being promoted to the rank of lieutenant in a ceremony held in Columbus Ohio, on Thursday, August 29, 1996. Lt. Taylor will assume command of the Patrol's Norwalk Ohio post as the first-ever female lieutenant and post commander. Behind Lt. Taylor is her father Ross.
