LAST HURRAH--Janet Folger, legislative director for Ohio Right to Life, spends her last day on the job lobbying Rep. Jerome Luebbers, D-Cincinnati, at the Ohio Statehouse, in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997. The Ohio House passed two bills which Folger promoted. H.B. 395 which would require state employees to pay if they want abortion coverage in their insurance plans, and H.B. 421, which would require women to meet with a doctor at least 24 hours prior to undergoing an abortion, and parental consent for minors.


PRIOR CONSENT FOR ABORTION--State Rep. Dale Miller, D-Cleveland, gestures as he speaks in opposition to House Bill 395, which requires women seeking an abortion to meet with a doctor at least 24 hours prior to the procedure and minors to receive parental consent, at the Ohio Statehouse, in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997. The bill passed the House and will move to the Senate for approval.

The bill, which passed the House, will alter the method of appointment and compensation of the board of directors for the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District.
