ELDERCARE AWARD WINNER--Ohio First Lady Janet Voinovich and Herbert Monroe are all smiles after Monroe was honored as the recipient of the annual First Lady's Award for Elder Caregiving, in a ceremony at the Governor's residence, in Bexley, Ohio, on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997. Monroe, of Paulding, Ohio, was the primary caregiver for over eight years of his wife, Mildred, who died in Jan. 1997 as a result of Alzheimer's disease. He also was instrumental in forming the Paulding County Alzheimer's Support Group.
